Our family saw the new Kung Fu Panda 2 movie on opening weekend, and it is definitely a winner. So often the “Part 2″ movie is not as good or as fun as the original, but not in this case. I have to admit that I went into the theatre expecting it to be, well, maybe a dud. Boy, was I wrong!
The plot is clever, and weaves in many elements from the original Kung Fu Panda movie, especially related to how Po ended up with a duck as his father. One thing I especially love is that they made the villain a peacock! It adds the unexpected to our image of the “bad guy”, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
I also want to give a shout-out to adoptive families – this movie includes a terrific, positive message about adoption. I won’t spoil the plot by saying more.
